TYPE ZERO

FORWARD CHARGING HANDGUARD

Rethink the operating system of your pistol caliber carbine or blow-back AR platform.

Stay on Target, Stay Engaged.

Traditional charging handles require the shooter to move their hand to the rear of the firearm, costing unnecessary time and often sacrificing target focus. The Type Zero Forward Charging Handle requires minimal movement to manipulate allowing you to maintain a clear sight-picture and keep your attention down range.

Bolt And Go Design

The Integrated Forward Charging System requires no additional proprietary parts allowing you to simply swap the handguard on your current rifle or use on your preferred bolt carrier, upper, lower, barrel and trigger system when building your next project.

Forward Charging Handguard System

Charging Catch, Rear Charging Plug, Mounting Hardware

How It Works

The Type Zero Integrated Forward Charging System starts with a custom 6061-T6 Aluminum extrusion, precisely machined with a top Picatinny rail and M-LOK® slots and an aggressive modern end and window profile, but that’s where similarities to the competition stops.

The custom extrusion also houses the Cylindrical Guide Channel that is home to the Charging Rod assembly. The Charging Rod assembly rides in this channel while being drawn back by the charging knob, which passes through a slot on either side of the handguard and bolts to the charging rod, allowing you to configure your charging system for right or left handed operation. That charging rod passes through the unused gas tube hole in your upper receiver, and locks into the charging catch. The charging catch is another precisely machined component of the system that transfers the movement of the charging rod to your bolt carrier in the same way that your old rear charging handle would.

Key Features

Low Profile, Ergonomic, Ambidextrous

The Type Zero forward charging system is fully integrated into a handguard no larger than a standard rail, keeping the rifle slim and clean while delivering smooth ergonomics. The slot for the charging knob appears on both sides of the handguard to accommodate right or left handed operation.

Integrated Rotational Bolt Lock & Slap-Bolt Release

To engage the open bolt lock, simply left the charging handle at the rearward position. Mag in and ready to send it? Slap the charging handle knob down, listen to the satisfying thunk of your bolt dropping into battery.

Non-Reciprocating Magnetic Forward Retention System

The Non-reciprocating charging system uses a “Magnetic Forward Retention System” to magnetically hold the charging handle in the forward position while the firearm is cycling. This allows the use of more grip styles and shooting positions without concern of the movement of the charging handle. When the handle is in its farthest forward position it engages against a neodymium magnet that holds the charging system in place and out of the way of the moving bolt carrier.

Top Picatinny Delete Section

On handguards over 10-inches we offer a picatinny-delete section giving a narrower , more ergonomic grip area along with top M-LOK® mount options for switches or lights. These lengths maintain a minimal front picatinny section for backup sight options.
